ARTIST BIO

I studied multidiscipline art in TAFE before embarking on a Diploma in Graphic Design at Chisolm (Monash) directing in a career as a creative designer in advertising/marketing in Melbourne. I have also directed several artist run iniatives and now focused on my own studio arts practice, participating in Dandenong Ranges Open Studios since 2012. My inspiration is drawn from my local environment, many of my artworks feature native birdlife, hills landscapes and flora. I muse on mid century art,  alos expressionist and fauvist colourists in Europe. 

My work is expressionist in style, I work spontaneously and quickly, abstracting natural forms and exaggerating textures to capture moods with a dramatic use of colour. My strong design background is often deconstructed through abstraction in my work.
I continually explore art process and try various mediums using monoprinting & stencils to create layered complex textures.
